Candy and Carms were born on a small base in Western Afghanistan.  They and the rest of their siblings were taken care of by American soldiers and soon their siblings had been adopted by local Afghans but Candy and Carms remained.  One of the soldiers took it upon himself to adopt the girls. When it was time for the soldier to leave Afghanistan he transported the dogs to Nowzad where we vaccinated and neutered them before flying them to the US.

Due to their size and as Pen & Hannah were in the US promoting Nowzad, they actually hand delivered Candy & Carms to their soldier and his family – all the way from JFK airport to Florida!
