This is the message we received from the caring American who started to look out for this lonely pup;
I am currently an English Teacher in Afghanistan, teaching Afghan soldiers. A challenging job to say the least, but one, I feel I am making a difference, despite the location and history.
I have stumbled upon a female puppy, all alone, which at first I thought, she will never make it. Most dogs do not make it out of here and are often mistreated. But she quickly grew on me and she won me over. We have built her a dog house to help protect her from the cold, but as soon as she sees our vehicle drive up, she literally sprints from the mountain side, where she sleeps, and greet us. She follows us to the classroom, and she has her own box to sleep in while I teach. The soldiers don't seem to be bothered by her, and they let her be on her way. When our classes are over, she’ll follow us to the vehicle and she’ll disappear into the mountainside.
I named her “Kia” because Kabul is the nearest city from where I work. I have even noticed that some of the Afghan soldiers who previously shunned away from Kia as she accompanied us to the classroom now pay her attention.
This little dog needs a chance at a forever home with me in the USA – please do what you can to support my request.
Without a moment’s hesitation we were able to collect Kia and start the vaccination process along with asking our amazing supporters to donate towards Kia’s transportation costs.
And you did not let us down! Kia is now safely in the USA! Thank you to everyone for their amazing support in getting Kia to her forever home!
