Lola

Our beautiful one-eared lady Lola was rescued from a Kuchi Camp in 2018 when one of our volunteers spotted her in a corner of the camp, struggling to walk and severely malnourished. She still managed a little nibble on a carrot when our team approached her and she showed her friendly nature straight away.

Fortunately, the owner staying at the camp allowed Nowzad to rescue her on-the-spot after he was convinced that she would be one less mouth to feed and was beyond her working days anyway.

Lola has become a much-loved donkey resident at our Sanctuary, instantly recognisable by her one ear that doesn’t stop going back and forth!  Her favourite time of the day is breakfast as staff come to work loaded-up with apples for Lola and friends. Sadly, Lola does suffer from continuous and very debilitating arthritis but she’s in the best place – away from the daily toil and back-breaking work that she used to do.

Thank you for your support!

Please consider making a donatation to help another donkey or horse receive the treatment they all so desperately need. Thank-you for caring.
