Jaja the long-eared goat (named after that famous Star Wars character!) was rescued in 2018 from a migrant camp on the city outskirts of Kabul. Before the Taliban came into power again, Nowzad teams often visited these camps to hold vaccination drives and animal health clinics, and generally educate families there on proper animal husbandry and welfare of their animals.
Jaja was certainly one of the lucky ones from those days. He was picked up by our team after noticing how very poorly Jaja was, with severe gastroenteritis and a raging fever. He was one year old at the time but, after thankfully making a full recovery, stayed with us long-term, with his previous owners at the camp simply not interested in having Jaja back.
Jaja is a real character and probably the friendliest, cheekiest goat you would ever meet! Due to an issue Jaja had a few years ago, he unfortunately had to have one of his legs amputated at the Sanctuary. Luckily, Jaja has made a full recovery and has certainly adapted to life on three legs instead!
Thank you for your care and kindness towards these animals!
Please consider making a donatation to help another donkey or horse receive the treatment they all so desperately need. Thank-you for caring.
