Nowzad as a charity, was born from a Royal Marine serving in Afghanistan who bridged the gap between the soldiers serving their country and the desperate plights of the innocent animals found amongst the horror and chaos.
It is only fitting that here at Nowzad, we remember both the soldiers that served and those innocent animal victims of war, from the horses of World War I to the working dogs of modern day conflicts and the millions of domestic and non-domestic animals that have perished as a result of being caught in the middle of a conflict.
Nowzad trustee Morag accompanied by staff member David attended the Animals in War memorial in London (organised by Pet Plan Charitible Trust) to lay a wreath of Remembrance on behalf of Nowzad.
It was a moment of reflection, yet sadly still today, innoncent animals are killed in their thousands as we are currently witnessing with the horrors unfolding in Ukraine.
To all of you who have supported the Nowzad Poppy appeal - thank you. Your support truly has and will make a difference for an animal in need especially in our countries of operation; Afghanistan and Ukraine.
