No Ears - our latest rescue

No Ears – Our latest rescue and in need of a new name!

We are so pleased to report that our young foal, rescued by Pen and the team from a brutal dog attack in Kabul last November, is recovering amazingly well at Nowzad's Donkey Sanctuary in the northern part of Kabul. Discovered by Dr. Reshad, the foal, initially named "No Ears" due to the loss of her ears during the attack, suffered severe injuries and was found unable to stand after her tethering rope had gotten caught all around her legs. She was going to be used for horse rides to local children, but No Ear’s owner rejected her after the attack as he no longer deemed her “pretty” enough. After weeks of dedicated care, this beautiful little foal is now thriving, running freely and enjoying the sanctuary life alongside other donkeys and her surrogate mum Azad.

So now we’re desperately seeking a new name for her, reflecting No Ear’s remarkable recovery and fresh start. Our Donkey Sanctuary has pledged to provide her with a permanent home for the rest of her life, and she will be featured in our upcoming Sponsorship Programme. But we need your name suggestions!!!  Please submit your best choices here or to our postal address, and we’ll announce the winning name just before the summer!

We’re all hoping her new name will symbolise a way of leaving the old name and the old pain firmly behind.

And by donating to Nowzad you are ensuring we can be here for the next 'No Ears' - thank you for caring.
