Former Rescues

All of our Nowzad former street dogs or cats will need a home where love and patience walk hand in hand.

It can be a long road of trial and error and careful supervision is always necessary. Overcoming the Afghan animal’s very territorial nature can have its moments.

We have fully come to appreciate that adopting an Afghan animal is not for everybody as it requires a life time of commitment but could you be the loving home our companion animals are looking for?

All our animals for adoption are vaccinated, neutered, tick flea & wormed & microchipped.

The team at Nowzad feel it is very important to ensure that you and your family / home situation is right for the dog or cat you are considering adopting. Please be as honest with us as you can when you complete the questionnaire. Some of our older dogs or cats that need ‘forever’ homes may not readily accept other dogs that are already living in your home but our younger dogs will settle with the correct introduction and supervision.

DAKOTA

Dakota who was the disabled office dog in Kabul has stayed within the Nowzad family. Happily living with another long term Nowzad rescue Chica & 4 cats this amazing fella spends his days on squirrel patrol or pigeon scurrying. Always keen for a trip in the car he makes friends wherever he goes. Dakota has met a few of his old doggie friends from Kabul if they have visited for a sleepover before heading to their forever homes. This sweet intelligent boy has settled into home life so well. He is so bonded with Chica and each evening they break into play. He truly is a happy dog and living the life they all deserve. An avid TV watcher he also has mastered the trick of being able to steal a sandwich from a table if left too near the edge. Life is a total joy with him and he brings a smile to his family’s heart each day. Visits to the local pub or beach cafe always results in someone giving him his favourite snack of a sausage. Life could not be better for this much loved boy.

Please consider making a donatation to help another donkey or horse receive the treatment they all so desperately need. Thank-you for caring.
